Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor Corporation (MCO), a part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Group, has acquired all shares of AST Turbo AG (AST), a Swiss company specializing in rotating equipment services, as of February 27, 2026, making it a wholly owned subsidiary of the MHI Group.

Addressing the long-term ownership of AST Turbo, a sustainable and lasting solution to succession was sought, both for the employees and the customer base. MCO and AST enjoyed a well-established and collaborative relationship for more than a decade based on mutual trust and respect. When looking for options, MCO quickly became the preferred succession partner to guarantee a promising future for all stakeholders.

Following the acquisition, under the leadership of AST’s current management team, the company will continue to operate independently to provide customer aligned services as in the past. The service offering will be complemented by integrating MCO’s and the MHI Group’s technological expertise and know-how to further enhance the service portfolio.
